Our Systems
Systems That Work . . . for Comfort
Redmond HVAC is a GeoExchange (geothermal) heat pump installation and service specialist for New England. GeoExchange is the most environmentally responsible heating and cooling alternative available today. Because the systems require only a relatively small amount of electricity, you save on monthly energy bills when compared to other types of heating and cooling systems.

Our two geoexhange product lines, Mega-Tek® manufactured by HydroHeat and Tranquility® manufactured by ClimateMaster, provide our customers a full array of geothermal benefits and installation options. We have added Acadia™ manufactured by Hallowell International for an efficient advanced air-exchange heatpump where the site size or geography make the installation of a geoexhange system too difficult.
HydroHeat Mega-Tek Systems
The HydroHeat Mega-Tek TS Protocol heat pump provides space heating and air conditioning in one compact appliance. The HydroHeat Mega-Tek TS Quadro-Therm adds hot water heating to the appliance for increased savings. With a closed earth loop or an open well, the system is ideally suited for residential installations, while its advanced technology makes it a good choice for many commerical applications. The operating software that runs the Quadro-Therm’s microprocessor control system enables the installer to customize the operating set points to match each unique application.

Acadia™ Systems
The Acadia™ Advanced Air-Source Heat Pump is designed and built by Hallowell International in Bangor, Maine. It is a new technological generation of heat pump compared to the traditional air-source heat pumps that have been used in southern climates for many years. A technical description of it is available on their web site, but in brief, the system is composed of a heat pump, air handler, and thermostat that are integrated in a computerized system that is easy to install, easy to maintain and operates effienciently down to temperatures of -30° F.

Humidification and Air Filtration in Every System
An important component of a Redmond HVAC system is humidification. Maintaining the proper humidification level in a home or business is essential to retaining comfort, especially during the dry New England winter months. We use Skuttle Indoor Air Quality Products to ensure that humidification is preserved accurately and automatically.
Today’s super-tight homes require special mechanical ventilators to introduce outside fresh air during both heating and cooling seasons. Redmond uses the top-of-the-line Venmar Heat Recovery Ventilator to not only accomplish this introduction of fresh air, but through a unique heat exchange process, to capture and keep this heated or cooled air in your home.
Another vital component of a Redmond HVAC system is the use of a high efficiency air filtration system. The installation of a Skuttle® air cleaner is standard for all of our systems. The high efficiency Skuttle® filter media captures the smaller, invisible particles that standard furnace and electrostatic filters miss. This non-woven, pleated filter media traps particles as small as 1 micron, so cleaned air is recirculated into the home.
Hot Water Heating
There are many ways to heat domestic hot water and we have been doing this by using the energy from sunlight for years. This free and endless source of energy can be utilized by the use of roof-mounted solar collectors coupled with a storage tank, usually located in the basement.
This environmentally friendly method of heating hot water can give you up to 60% free hot water on an annual basis in the New England climate. Alternate Energy Technologies of Jacksonville, Florida is the manufacturer of the solar equipment that we sell and install. We also service hundreds of solar hot water systems, some of which have been in service for over 25 years.
Oil & Gas Heating Installation and Service
Redmond HVAC also installs and services all types of oil and gas heating systems. Another specialty of the company is called a Hydro-Air System that uses individual air handlers to deliver conditioned air to each zone in the home or office. Heated water is circulated through the air handler coil fired either by oil or gas. Cooling is accomplished by the use of an evaporator in the air handler connected to an air-cooled condenser outside.
